Tedros Ghebreyesus re-elected as WHO Director-General

Kathmandu, May 25

The World Health Organization’s Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has been re-appointed (WHO). The WHO member nations have re-elected him for the next five years.

Ghebreyesus was elected for the first time in 2017. He was re-elected at the 75th World Health Conference in Geneva at the end of his first term. The only candidate was Ghebreyesus.

”I am grateful for the chance to serve as Director-General of the WHO for a second term,” he stated after being elected.

He claims that the World Health Organization has accomplished its goals of promoting health, keeping the world secure, and helping those in need.

According to the WHO, Director General Dr. Tedros’ new tenure will begin on August 16.
