CPN-UML wins in Mechinagar Municipality

Jhapa, May 24

The CPN-UML candidates have won the mayor and deputy mayor in the Mechinagar
Municipality of Jhapa district.

UML mayoral candidate Gopal Chandra Budhathoki was elected with 26,478 votes while Indra Bahadur of the Nepali Congress got only 21,311 votes.

Similarly, UML candidate Mina Uprety has been elected as the deputy mayor with 21,590 votes while her nearest rival candidate Prakash Bhandari of the Maoist Center got 12,818 votes.
