Chamber urges Malaysia to invest in Nepal including the construction of industrial villages

Kathmandu, May 24

Malaysia has been invited to construct an industrial village in Nepal by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce. Malaysia may construct industrial communities under the concept of integrated tourism, information technology, and manufacturing investment, according to the chamber.

Chairman of the Chamber Rajendra Malla stated they will take action to ensure Malaysian
investment in a meeting with Malaysian Charge d’Affaires Mod Fazle Vin Awu Hassan.

Malla has encouraged the Malaysian government to invest in several other areas in addition to labor cooperation because nearly four lakh Nepali youths are engaged in Malaysia.

In terms of investor relations, Chairman Malla believes that the government and Nepal should work together at a high level. Chairman Malla encouraged investors to invest in Nepal, particularly in the tourism, hydropower, information technology, and handicrafts sectors.

Chairman Malla advised investors to invest with confidence because Nepal has already
achieved numerous reforms in the policy area for foreign investment.
