Kathmandu, May 24
Bharatpur Metropolitan’s Chief and Deputy Chief positions were won by coalition candidates.
The posts of deputy chief and vice deputy chief were gained by Renu Dahal of the CPN (Maoist Center) and Chitrasen Adhikari of the Nepali Congress, respectively.
Dahal won by 12,449 votes over her closest competitor Bijay Subedi of the CPN (UML).
According to early statistics, Dahal received 52,030 votes, while Subedi received 39,581 votes.
The final results have still to be verified by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer. In a similar manner, independent candidate Jagannath Poudel received 14,728 votes.
