Independent candidate Hamal elected Dhangadhi Mayor

Kathmandu, May 22

Independent candidate Gopal Hamal has won the post of mayor of Dhangadhi sub-metropolis of Kailali district.

Hamal defeated incumbent mayor Nrip Bahadur Oad of the Nepali Congress. Hamal received 26,865 votes while Oad received 14,817 votes.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Kandakala Kumari Rana has been elected the deputy mayor of Dhangadhi. She got 15,479 votes.
