Kathmandu, May 20
Two people have been arrested for posing as candidates’ representatives and accessing polling stations. The identity of the suspect has not been revealed.
They reportedly did not belong to any political party and entered the country illegally. The two have been arrested at the District Police Office, according to police spokesperson DSP Sundar Tiwari. It wasn’t clear why they went to the polls right away.
In Pokhara, 65 thousand 462 votes have been counted so far. The coalition candidates have
taken the lead so far. UML has won four out of fifteen wards, while Nepali Congress has won eleven. The UML had 22 ward chairpersons in the last election, including the mayor and deputy mayor, whereas Congress had just 11 ward chairpersons.
