Kathmandu, May 18
Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Aita Man Tamang has been elected as the mayor of Melamchi Municipality of Sindhupalchowk. He defeated UML candidate Bal Krishna Deuba.
He got 11 thousand 258 votes while the defeated UML candidate Deuja got 11 thousand 165 votes.
Similarly, UML candidate Uma Pradhan has been elected as vice-chairman with 10 thousand
164 votes while Kumari Tamang of RPP lost with 8 thousand 356 votes.
