Kathmandu, May 18
CPN-UML has won both mayor and deputy mayor of Letang Municipality.
UML candidates Bhupendra Lawati has been elected mayor and Krishna Kumari Niraula Pokhrel deputy mayor of Letang Municipality, Morang. While Lawati got 10,227 votes, Gyanendra Dhakal of the Nepali Congress got 8,105 votes.
Similarly, Pokharel won the post of deputy mayor with 9,406 votes while Krishna Lamsal of the CPN (Maoist Center) got 4,905 votes.
In the previous election, the mayor was won by Congress and the deputy mayor by the UML.
