Pressure cooker bomb explodes in Butwal

Kathmandu, May 12

On the eve of local elections, a bomb exploded at Milanchowk in Butwal. The bomb exploded at around 8:30 PM on Wednesday.

A pressure cooker bomb exploded in front of the Sunrise Bank in Milanchowk, according to the Butwal Area Police Office. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.

However, a pamphlet with the name CPN (Maoist Center was found on the spot and the
pamphlet asked all to boycott the local elections.

A team of Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force personnel had reached the site
after learning of the bomb blast.
