One arrested with around 1 kg gold from Banke

Kathmandu, May 3

A person with around one kilogram of gold has been arrested by police in Khajura of Banke.

According to the District Police Office, Banke, Ashok Bahadur Singh, 28, of Pimi of Jayprithvi municipality-1 in Bajhang district was arrested with gold from Subedi Chowk of Khajura rural municipality-2.

Singh was arrested by a joint police team from the Area Police Office in Dhanauli and the Police Post in Radhapur, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhu Sudan Neupane.

A joint police team from Area Police Office, Dhanauli, and Police Post, Radhapur, arrested Singh while he was walking in a suspicious manner, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhu Sudan Neupane.

Singh further said that as per the preliminary investigation, the ornaments were stolen from a jewelry shop in Bangalore, India on April 17.

The necessary investigation was underway collaborating with Indian Police. The identity of the owners of the ornaments has been kept secret thinking it may affect the investigation.
