Kathmandu, May 3
Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that freedom of the press and expression is the
cornerstone of democracy.
Expressing best wishes on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, he said that freedom of press and expression has played a special role in advancing democracy.
“I wholeheartedly appreciate this role of the press. I hope that the Nepali media will continue to use its constitutional rights to the fullest and will continue to work fearlessly with strong unity,” he said.
Speaker Sapkota also expressed his commitment to always stand for freedom of press and
expression in terms of leadership of the federal parliament.
