UN claims more than 3,000 civilians killed in Ukraine war

Kathmandu, May 3

Since February 24, more than 3,000 civilians have been killed in Russian attacks, according to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). According to the OHCHR, the war killed 3,153 people. According to the OHCHR, the war’s death toll might be significantly higher.

According to sources, the majority of the victims were killed by explosive weapons such as
missiles and air attacks. Russia has described its operations in Ukraine as a ”special operation” aimed at disarming Ukraine and protecting it from Nazis, a claim that Ukraine and the West have dismissed.

Talks between the two parties to end the war have repeatedly failed to give results. Ukraine has requested that the two presidents meet. Russia has developed a combined negotiation and offensive strategy. Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, hinted to a third conflict a year ago.

Russia has declared that the conflict in Ukraine has entered its second phase and that it has recently entered eastern Ukraine.
