The country must go to the polls as a united front: Senior leader Poudel

Kathmandu, May 2

Ram Chandra Poudel, a senior Nepali Congress official, has stated that the country has to go to the polls as a united force.

Senior leader Poudel said it was vital to build alliances in weak areas since it would be
impossible to win everywhere by fighting alone, speaking at a program held by the Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) in Damauli on the occasion of the 133rd International Workers’ Day, yesterday.  He stated that the alliances’ electoral cooperation will have positive results.

”The coalition parties have done electoral cooperation to protect this government till the legislative elections,” Poudel stated. He believed that Congress had made progress in coordination with the coalition parties in order to protect democracy, stability, and achievements. Leader Poudel stated that the workers’ contribution was critical in establishing a democratic republic in Nepal.

Congress central member Govinda Bhattarai, National Assembly member Prakash Pantha,
District Coordinating Committee chief Shantiraman Wagle, Trade Union Congress Tanahun
president Suryachandra hadkha, vice president Lokraj Sedhai, and others emphasized the
importance of the state focusing on food, shelter, and cotton, as well as social security.
