RPP Chairman Lingden calls for making politics a service

Kathmandu, May 2

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairperson Rajendra Lingden has pointed out the need to see politics as a means of social service.

During an interaction with the party cadres and leaders at Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality in Tanahu on Sunday, Chairman Lingden said that the trend and tendency of making politics a profession should be stopped.

“Politics should be taken as an opportunity for nation-building, but not as a ladder to grab
power,” he argued. Stating that weeding out corruption and making a corruption-free nation is certainly not an easy task, Lingden called for collective resolve to control corruption.

While warning that there is no space in RPP for those involved in corruption, he reiterated his party’s resolution to put an end to corruption.

“If our people’s representatives are found to be corrupt, we will take action against them and make sure they do not remain party members,” he promised, adding that they would
recommend the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) for further actions against the culprits.
