Kathmandu, April 29
The Nepali Congress has once again called for the rebel candidacy to be withdrawn.
From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. today, party chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel issued a press
statement urging candidates to drop their candidacies.
He also requested that any member of the party who had filed a rebellious candidacy against the official candidate return to the Election Commission and work actively to ensure that the official candidate won.
Rebel candidates, supporters, and proponents have been told that if they do not withdraw their candidacies within the deadline, they would be removed from the party.
On Thursday, Sher Bahadur Deuba, the party’s president and prime minister, appealed to the rebel candidate to withdraw their candidacy.
