Kathmandu, April 26
In the local level election, 137,043 candidates registered for various posts.
According to the latest data updated by the Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday morning,
3,276 candidates have registered for the post of mayors and 2,009 for deputy mayors in
metropolitan, sub-metropolitan cities, and municipalities.
Similarly, 3,264 candidates have registered for the post of chairmen and 2,296 candidates have registered for the post of vice-chairman in rural municipalities.
So far, only 32,217 candidates have filed nominations for the post of ward chairpersons.
There are 23,521 women members, 21,221 Dalit members while the highest number 49, 239 have registered nominations for the post of the member.
