After a convincing victory over his closest rival Marine Le Pen, Emmanuel Macron has been re-elected as President of France.
Macron won the presidential election with 58.55% of the vote cast while his closest rival Le Pen obtained 41.45%, a greater margin than expected.
Following his election, the centrist leader told jubilant supporters at the foot of the Eiffel Tower that he would be a “president for all”.
