Kathmandu, April 21
Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is arriving in Nepal on Thursday.
Tedros is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Birodh Khatiwada, Minister of Health and
Population. He is scheduled to land at 12:15 PM today.
During the visit, Dr. Tedros will be accompanied by the Regional Director of the WHO South
East Asia Regional Office. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, and other officials of the WHO, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dr. Tedros will call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Chairperson of National Assembly Ganesh Prashad Timilsina.
The visiting Director-General will also meet the Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Narayan Khadka and Health Minister Khatiwada, the foreign ministry said.
He is scheduled to return home on April 23.
