Experts predict a three-day heatwave in Terai

Kathmandu, April 17

Hot winds are expected to blow throughout the western Terai area, including Nepal’s Lumbini province, over the next three days, according to experts.

Hot winds are forecast in the western Terai areas, including Lumbini province of Nepal, on April 18, 19, and 20, according to an earlier warning given by the Meteorological Department of India and the Regional Multiple Outbreak Center (RIMS) at Bank.

The term ‘loo’ refers to temperatures exceeding 40 degrees (heat web). Temperatures have exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in seven locations around the country, according to figures issued by the Water and Weather Forecast Division.

Upreti, a climate and disaster specialist, told News Agency Nepal that the temperature in the Western Terai will climb substantially for three days starting on April 18.
