No decision yet to forge electoral alliance with other parties: RPP Chairman Lingden

Kathmandu, April 15

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has said that a decision to forge an electoral alliance with other parties in the upcoming local-level election has not been reached yet.

Talking to media persons in Chitwan on Friday, Chairman Lingden said any formal talks have not been held with other political parties regarding this topic. “No decision has been made to contest the election with seat adjustment with other parties. Talks on the alliance have not been initiated with any party,” he said, adding that the RPP would contest this election across the country on its own.

Chairman Lingden, however, said that it is another matter if the electoral alliance is forged at some local levels and the party will leave that to the party’s local units themselves.

While highlighting the importance of bringing reforms in the education sector, Chairman
Lingden said RPP will implement the policy of free education at the local levels where it is
elected. “We have a plan of providing free education up to grade 12,” he said.

On a different note, Lingden said that those who take politics as a business have abandoned the party recently. “Those people who took politics as a means of earning for their family have exited the party and those who love the country and consider politics as a social service are still with the RPP,” he said while referring to the decision of Kamal Thapa and his trusted leaders leaving the party.
