Bird flu has spread to 13 districts, urging mass surveillance

Kathmandu, April 5

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has advised farmers to exercise extreme caution, citing an increase in a bird flu infection. Bird flu has been found in 13 districts across four states in the previous two months, according to the agency.

The illness, which was first discovered on January 25 in Sunsari, has already spread to 13
districts across four states. Ramnandan Tiwari expressed his opinion. Infections have been
recorded in Province 1, Madhesh Pradesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki districts, according to Tiwari.

The infection has been verified in Morang, Udaipur, and Sunsari in State 1, Bara, Parsa, and
Dhanusha in Madhesh State, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, and
Sindhupalchowk in Bagmati State, and Kaski in Gandaki State, according to the most recent information.

The department has also urged businesses not to shift livestock away from the infection site and to maintain high levels of monitoring among poultry farmers.
