Sri Lanka’s governor, who is in the midst of an economic crisis, has also resigned. Sri Lankan ministers had previously quit in mass.
According to AFP, Sri Lanka’s central bank governor, Ajith Nivard Cabral, resigned the next day.
The citizens of Sri Lanka are becoming angrier as a result of the severe economic situation.
After anti-government protests and looting grew, a national curfew was enforced. In an
attempt to quiet the demonstrations, troops have been sent to the streets. All government
officials save the Prime Minister resigned in massive numbers as citizens went on strike in
violation of the curfew.
