Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, an estimated 4.2 million Ukrainians have fled the nation. On Monday, the United Nations released a statement. 40,000 people have fled the nation in the previous 24 hours alone, according to the UN. In only five weeks, 4.176 million Ukrainians have fled the nation, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Women and children comprise 90% of those leaving the nation. Men between the ages of 18 and 60 have been urged to join the army by the government, but they have been unable to leave the country.

Since the fighting began, Ukraine claims 158 children have died and 258 have been injured.

According to the Office of Ukraine’s Attorney General, the war has had the largest impact on children in Kyiv, followed by Donetsk.
