Kathmandu, March 25
At 3 p.m., Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is on a state visit to India, will arrive in Nepal. His flight was supposed to arrive at 5 p.m., but it was delayed by two hours. Wang has been having official meetings since Saturday morning when he arrived in Kathmandu with a 25-member visiting team.
He will meet with his Nepali colleague, Dr. Narayan Khadka, on Saturday morning. He’ll go trekking in Shivpuri first thing in the morning at 6:30 a.m.
On Saturday afternoon, he will meet with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, and on Sunday morning, he will meet with President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.
After meeting with UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and UCPN (Maoist) Central Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on Sunday, Wang is scheduled to return to China in the evening.
Wang is traveling to Nepal through Afghanistan and India after arriving in Pakistan on Monday. Foreign Minister Wang will meet with embassy officials this evening to discuss the recent situation in Nepal, according to Chinese embassy sources in Nepal.
