To win the one-day cricket match against Papua New Guinea, Nepal has to meet a goal of 293 runs.
PNG scored 292 runs for the cost of 8 wickets in 50 overs after losing the toss at the Kirtipur Cricket Ground.
In ODI cricket, this is the highest total ever achieved by any side against Nepal.
PNG’s top scorer was Charles Amini, who scored 77 runs. Asad Bhala, the captain, scored 60 runs, Norman Bhanua 47, Team Ura 38, and Riley Hekure 31.
Nepalese bowlers Kamal Airy, Sompal Kami, and Dipendra Singh Airy each claimed two wickets. Sandeep Lamichhane and Pawan Saraf, meanwhile, each took one wicket.
When Nepal first played a bilateral series at home, Sandeep made his captaincy debut. Dev
Khanal, on the other hand, made his senior team debut. In the final ball of the fourth over,
Sompal Kami removed PNG opener Hiri Hiri. Anil Shah, the national team’s wicketkeeper, caught Hiri after a four-year absence.
PNG played with caution after losing the first wicket quickly. Asad Bhala and Charles Amini
batted with control and helped the team progress the innings.
