In the last month of March, the number of Nepali employees who went overseas to work
declined even further. In December, there were 1000 fewer persons applying for work permits than in May.

Because of the steady growth, the number of Nepalese seeking abroad jobs has begun to fall since May last year.

In March, 53,457 persons received labor permission to travel overseas, according to the
Department of Foreign Employment. The figure was 54,470 in January. On a daily basis, 1781 employees in February have gone overseas.

27,520 of the 55,000 people who departed in February had gotten new labor licenses, while
others had renewed theirs.

In December of last year, the average number of persons seeking international jobs was roughly 2,000, up from 2,500 in November. 66,625 workers obtained labor permits for international employment in January, while 74,354 Nepali workers went abroad for foreign employment in December.

In January, Nepal’s third wave of epidemics is thought to have reduced the number of foreign workers. The number of Nepalis moving overseas is growing, according to the Department of Foreign Jobs, since the foreign employment problem caused by the Corona pandemic has decreased for two years. After December, however, the increase in numbers slowed.

Nepalis continue to migrate to the Gulf countries of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Nepalis also go to Kuwait, Oman, and other Middle Eastern nations. Since April, when demand began to come from Malaysia, the number of Nepalis residing overseas is expected to rise.

According to the department, on 7 May 2021, 24 thousand 363 Nepalis went overseas to work. In June, however, the number of Nepalis heading overseas had dropped to 4,086. In July, 20,000 658 Nepalis were granted permission to work in other countries.

According to the department, in August, 25,428 Nepalis traveled overseas for employment,
followed by 36,040 in September, 39,671 in October, and 54,918 in November.
