Kathmandu, March 13
Dormani Poudel, the former Chief Minister of Bagmati Pradesh, has stated that the Kathmandu Valley should be developed as an autonomous metrocity.
Poudel, speaking at the Nepal Municipal Association’s annual celebration, urged that the three cities in the valley should be proclaimed autonomous metropolises, independent of any province.
”The legislation issued by the state cannot influence our city,” he remarked, adding that he felt the need for it more after he became Chief Minister. There can be no progress.”
