Nepal and Turkey have agreed to enhance their trade and investment relations

Kathmandu, March 11

Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka, who is in Antalya, Turkey, and Foreign Minister of the
Republic of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu, conducted bilateral discussions on Thursday, led by the Nepali team participating in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two nations’ Foreign Ministers examined crucial elements of bilateral relations and mutual aid at the meeting and agreed to increase trade and investment prospects between them. Foreign Minister Khadka praised Turkey’s involvement in bringing Ukraine’s and Russia’s foreign ministers to the negotiation table and expressed optimism that the current crisis could be addressed via diplomacy and conversation. Foreign Minister Cavusoglu underlined his commitment to strengthening Nepal-result-oriented Turkey’s collaboration in the sphere of mutual benefit.

He will speak at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, which will take place from today until March
13th. With the involvement of foreign ministers, policymakers, and experts from more than 50 nations, he will speak at two separate sessions on ‘Democratic Governance and Security’ and ‘New Asia for Sustainable Regional Development.’ The event will concentrate on current regional and worldwide concerns, as well as possible solutions.

The Foreign Minister’s visit, which coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Nepal and Turkey, is expected to be productive in terms of developing bilateral relations. The visit is also anticipated to boost bilateral commerce, investment, tourism, international employment, and people-to-people ties.
