DC Soreng convenes first all department coordination meeting

Soreng, March 10 : District Collector (Soreng), Bhim Thatal chaired the first all department coordination cum departmental progressive work implementation meeting at Soreng Community Hall, today. Attending the meeting were SP (Soreng) J. Jayapandiyan, ADC Dhiraj Subedi, ADC/Dev (Soreng), Gayaas Pega, SDM (Soreng) Ranjan Rai, BDOs from all Six blocks under the district along with Officials and representatives from all the departments.

Addressing the meet, DC Thatal firstly congratulated everyone present for attaining the status of district from a sub-division. Stating that for better administration and governance, the State has been conferred with two more new districts, he added that the roles and responsibilities of each public servant will be more challenging but one must carry out their jobs with utmost dedication and seriousness.

The DC emphasized that with the creation of the new district, people will have more expectations and hopes from the department thus every office should strive towards facilitating and catering to the needs of the local public. He stressed on the concept of ease of governance for the holistic development of any community. He added that focus should be towards door-step governance for public convenience especially for the needy ones. Record management and digitization of documents will be the first step towards better administration for new district of Soreng, he quoted. He suggested the district heads to make department SWOT profile wherein, each department can assess their challenges and weaknesses. He urged all the in-line departments to work in coordination in order to achieve good state governance.

After taking the charge as the new SP, J. Jayapandiyan firstly, congratulated and extended his best wishes for the new district. He stated that this will be a stepping stone towards fulfilling the aspiration of the local community. He said that for a successful running of any office each department must work in tandem with other associate departments. Focusing on niche areas especially regarding maintenance of law and order will be one of the priorities of the department. Issues such as the construction of new outposts for farfetched areas are under discussion, he added. In regards to growing traffic concerns, he assured that feasible traffic points including parking spots will be dealt at the earliest.

Earlier, individual department had given a PowerPoint Presentation, wherein each speaker had spoken briefly about the schemes, services, status and their field of functionaries. Issues such as lack of manpower were also thoroughly discussed.(IPR)
