Kathmandu, March 8

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has asserted that his party was a step ahead of others in terms of human rights protection.

It was said by Chairman Oli during the inauguration of the National Human Rights and Social Justice Forum Nepal’s fifth national general convention on Monday.

He said that UML is dedicated to ensuring citizens’ rights in a modern and scientific way, and that it recognizes that people must not be victims of poverty, insecurity, or discrimination.

According to him, the UML’s other priorities are economic prosperity and just equality. On the other hand, he said that the present government was formed as a result of the mandamus order.

The former prime minister said some intellects who were biased against the government he led were now mute spectators.

He wondered why they were silent at present economic disarray and strained foreign relations.
