Germany and Finland have said that Russian planes will not be permitted to fly in their airspace.
As Russia’s military actions in Ukraine continue, Germany and Finland have stated that Russian planes would not be allowed to fly over their airspace.
Germany’s Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure said on Saturday night that ”German airspace will be blocked to Russian aircraft” and that all necessary preparations be taken.
In addition, Lufthansa Airlines, based in Germany, has canceled all scheduled flights to Russia.
Even Finland’s transport minister, Timo Haraka, has stated that Russian aircraft will be prohibited from flying over his country.
Simultaneously, the number of European countries that have banned Russian airlines has
grown. Earlier this year, European countries such as the United Kingdom, Poland, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic restricted their skies to Russian planes.
Russia has retaliated by prohibiting Russian aircraft from flying over its territory.
