From today (Friday) evening, the Nepal-India border at Jamunah in Nepalgunj will be closed totally.

The Jamunah in Nepalgunj will be blocked for 60 hours because of assembly elections on
February 27 in India’s border districts, including Bahraich and Shravasti, according to Banke Superintendent of Police Shyam Krishna Adhikari.

According to him, the border would be blocked totally from 6 p.m. today until 6 a.m. on
February 28. For 60 hours, vehicles and pedestrians will be prohibited from crossing the border.

Internal security, especially Rupaidiha, has been made extremely tight and strong for the
election, and the security check at the border has been increased for a week ago.
Except for emergency vehicles and pedestrians, no vehicles or pedestrians will be excluded
from traffic, according to the Superintendent of Police.
