Russia declares military action in Ukraine, with explosions in the capital

Russia declares military intervention in Ukraine.

As the UN Security Council debates the Ukraine problem, Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced military action.

Putin stated in his press release announcing the special military operation that the people of Ukraine will have a choice in who governs their country.

The people of Ukraine will have a say in who runs their country, Putin emphasized in his press statement announcing the special military operation. He urged troops stationed in eastern Ukraine to bring their guns back home.

Ukraine will be held accountable for the killings if it did not comply, Putin said. The Russian
president also stated in his speech that Russia is on the side of justice and truth. He also stated that if someone takes action against Russia, Moscow will not hesitate to reply. The decision was likewise justified, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
