A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the MCC, a US aid project tabled in Parliament.

On Monday, senior advocate Surendra Bhandari filed a writ petition saying that some
provisions of the MCC are against the constitutional supremacy and sovereignty of Nepal.

The writ has not been registered yet.

According to the court officials, the writ petition will be decided today whether to register or
not. Advocate Bhandari has demanded that the MCC agreement should not be ratified as per Article 4 of the Nepal Treaty Act 1990.
