Complaint against UML leaders including KP Oli

Kathmandu, February 17

CPN (Unified Socialist) students filed a complaint at the Commission of the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) against CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli among other leaders.

The student union has accused Oli and leaders of UML of being corrupt while they were in government and demanded a fair investigation into the case. They filed the case against Oli, Ishwor Pokharel, Yogesh Bhattarai, Padma Aryal and Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal. In the complaint, the students alleged that Oli and Aryal committed corruption by amending the law to exchange 300 bighas of land of Birtamod and Arjundhara which are in the name of Giribandu Tea State in Jhapa.

Similarly, the students have accused Pokharel, then coordinator of the Covid-19 Crisis Management and Coordination Centre (CCMC), and Health Minister Dhakal of being involved in corruption in the procurement process of health items in collision with the Omni Group during the pandemic.

Likewise, the then Tourism Minister Yogesh Bhattarai has been accused of corruption while promoting the Visit Nepal Year, 2020.
