A series of cultural events were held in the Yongyuan culture industry park in downtown Beijing’s Dongcheng district on Tuesday to mark China’s Lantern Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the Chinese New Year.

Taking flowers as its theme, the events included flower embodiments, flower arrangement and floral lantern making. As an important part of the festival, riddles were also on display so people could test their wits.

Additionally, Liu Xiaoyan, an inheritor of the intangible culture heritage Jingxiu embroidery, also hosted a livestream about the beauty of the peony flower and its related intangible cultural heritage.
