Strict action against vehicles carrying more load than prescribed

The government has amended the directive 2074 on the provision of regulation of freight of freight vehicles. The Department of Transport Management has made various arrangements to make the operation of the weight bridge more systematic by amending the guideline.

Arrangements have been made to get permission from the department while operating the weighbridge, to make the weighbridge comfortable for 12-wheeled vehicles, and to charge only Rs. 100 per ride according to the weight.

The fines and action limits for vehicles carrying more than their carrying capacity have also been increased. The guideline states that vehicles carrying more than the prescribed load should be unloaded and re-transported.

Similarly, a provision has been made to mention the details related to the weight of the vehicle registration certificate. Provision has been made for the concerned vehicle office to mention the total weight specified by the company while registering the vehicle.

The directive also mentions the total weight that can be increased according to the maximum axle load. There is a rule that such weight should be mentioned while renewing the registered vehicle.
