Bhim Rawal demands investigation and action against Deuba and Prachanda

Kathmandu, February 7

CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal has demanded investigation and action against Prime Minister
Sher Bahadur Deuba and UCPN (Maoist) Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal
Prachanda for writing a letter to Millennium Challenge Corporation.

At a meeting of the International Relations Committee on Monday, Rawal said it was objectionable for Prime Minister Deuba and Prachanda to write a letter approving the Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC). ”This is an example of how diplomacy is being undermined and the country’s self-esteem is being undermined,” he said.

In a letter to the MCC, Deuba and Prachanda asked for time to ratify the agreement and said they would use government resources to inform the public about the MCC agreement, Rawal said. Earlier, he said, ”an agreement with a country presented in the House of Representatives, which is under consideration for ratification.” Does anyone have the right to write a letter saying that we will do this or that? This should be investigated and action should be taken. This should be investigated and action should be taken.
