Allegation that KU illegally built a building on the land of a children’s organization

Kathmandu, February 7

According to the children’s organization, Kathmandu University Dhulikhel has illegally
constructed a building on the land of the children’ organization in Panchkhal.

Vidya Upadhyaya Neupane, chairperson of the children’s organization, said that the university had illegally constructed a building in lot number 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the five ropani land of the children’s organization in Panchkhal Municipality.

Raj Bhakta Shrestha, the acting head of the children’s organization in Panchkhal, had informed children’s organization center Naxal about two months ago that the municipality was going to form a trust. However, the organization requested the acting head of the center to stop but the construction was not stopped, then after Chairman Nyaupane went to the municipality to visit mayor, It is said that the mayor did not come in contact.

Meanwhile, Kathmandu University has been insisting with the children’s organization that the mayor of PanchKhal has given it to run for 10 years as it is a public land.

After the Panchkhal mayor ignored the verbal request, Shrestha, the acting head of the
Panchkhal children’s organization, wrote a photo and requested to stop the construction.

According to the children’s organization, the central office of the children’s organization held a meeting with the district administration chief after registering a letter with the mayor. Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University P.D. Though Bhola Thapa and Prof. Manish Pokhrel, dean of Kathmandu School of Engineering, have repeatedly agreed to come to the meeting and resolve the issue, they did not come, said the president of the organization.

”Initially, we made repeated requests, both verbally and in writing, to stop construction,” she said. But they showed a very hepatic tendency.’

She said that the Dean of the Kathmandu School of Engineering, Prof. Manish Pokhrel, had
assured her that he would come for the discussion after seeing the home entry program of the university on social media on the occasion of saraswati worship.

The university has entered the newly constructed building of the School of Engineering and
School of Science on the land of the children’s organization on the occasion of Saraswati Puja on Sunday.

She said, ”How can photo of house entry of the building be published which was built on the property of children’s organization without any discussion.” I never imagined that educated people from such a prestigious institution would work in such a superstitious style. ‘
