The number of service seekers seeking national identity cards has increased at the District
Administration Office, Lamjung. The government has made the national identity card number mandatory for getting passports and the number of service seekers has increased. Chief District Officer Sushil Baidya said that the number of service seekers seeking national identity cards at the District Administration Office Lamjung has increased since last week.
The government started distributing national identity cards last year and also started collecting details in Lamjung. Although the work of collecting details and taking photographs for the national identity card has started, the distribution has not taken place yet. Due to the delay in printing the identity card, the administration has stated that the identity card of any of the persons whose details have been collected has not been received so far.
According to Baidya, more than 60 service recipients come daily to get the national identity
card. Earlier, the service seekers who came for citizenship were collected together for the
national identity card, but last week, the number of service seekers who came only for the
identity card has also increased. The number of service seekers making identity cards has
increased in the district after the government started distributing electronic passports and the national identity card number became mandatory for it.
The District Administration Office, Lamjung, which had earlier started only one registration
center, has stated that the service is being provided through two stations now as the pressure of service seekers has increased. Even if the identity card is not available for the time being, the service recipient will be able to get the national identity card number after filling in the details.
As the passport can be filled on the basis of the identity card number obtained, the service
recipients who are preparing to get the passport have started coming to the administration
office to get the national identity card.
According to the District Administration Office, Lamjung, the national identity card, which is
currently flowing from the administration office, is being prepared to provide services from all the local levels and wards of the district.
