Non-essential services closed in Gulmi

Kathmandu, January 24

District Administration Office Gulmi has stopped non-essential services. The administration said in a statement on Monday that some non-essential services had been suspended due to corona infection in some of the office workers who were being treated in isolation.

Chief District Officer Punya Bikram Poudel said that the administration has suspended other
services except peace and security and disaster management.

Poudel said that the flow from the office had to be stopped considering the high number of
service recipients in the office and the increased risk of infection with COVID-19.

According to Poudel, the staff working in the Citizenship, National Identity Card and Support Cell, including the Assistant Chief District Officer, have been infected with the corona. The pressure of service seekers has been increasing in the administration office Gulmi on a daily basis lately.

Citizenship, voter registration, passport, national identity card and other services are being
crowded on a daily basis. Poudel said that the service has been postponed as the corona
infection could spread in the entire district by providing services to the infected employees in the administration.

The service seekers who come to get the essential services are requested to show the
vaccination card as mentioned in the notice issued on Magh 7 and to comply with the health safety standards.

The rate of corona infection in the district is increasing day by day. Currently, 288 people are actively infected in the district.
