Kathmandu, January 24
Tunisia advanced to the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 victory over three-time winners Nigeria.
Yusu Emsakni scored the decisive goal to give Tunisia the victory in the pre-quarterfinal match on Sunday night. He scored in the 47th minute of the game.
Nigeria was reduced to 10 men in the 66th minute when Alex Iwobi received a red card.
2004 champions Tunisia will now play Burkina Faso in the quarterfinals. In another pre-quarterfinal, Burkina Faso beat Gabon in a penalty shootout to advance to the quarterfinals.
Burkina Faso beat Gabon 7-6 in a suit after a 1-1 draw at the scheduled time.
