Corona infection disrupts government services across the country

Corona infection has disrupted government services across the country. Most government
offices have shut down all but essential services. According to Suprabha Khanal, Assistant Chief District Officer, District Administration Office, Kathmandu, out of 67 employees working in the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, about 50 employees have contracted corona infection.

Due to which the services provided by the District Administration Office, Kathmandu such as citizenship, copy of citizenship, passport and national identity card have been completely
stopped.

Kathmandu Chief District Officer Govinda Rijal himself has contracted corona. Three districts of the Kathmandu Valley have implemented rotation system in government offices in the Kathmandu Valley since Sunday. Most of the offices have been closed for services such as citizenship, national identity card, passport, license, purchase and sale of land. Similarly, all the examinations of the Public Service Commission have been postponed since Magh 11.

Frontline services have been shut down due to corona infection in almost half of the employees under the home. After the corona infection was seen in most of the employees of the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, the work has been completed by sending the employees of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday and Sunday.

The Department of Land Management and the Department of Survey have also shut down
services such as land administration, purchase and sale, and map printing in many places.

At present, half of the employees in most government offices are infected. As a result, most government offices look deserted.
