A meeting of the parties in the ruling coalition is being held today. The meeting is scheduled to be held at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday at 9 am.

On Monday alone, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal met Prachanda. During the meeting, it was agreed to convene a meeting of the coalition today. Coalition meetings could not be held after leaders, including President Prachanda, were confirmed infected with the corona virus.

In today’s meeting, local level election, National Assembly election, stalemate in the parliament and other issues will be discussed. The two leaders also discussed local elections during a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday. During the discussion between the two leaders on the request of the Election Commission to fix the date of the local level election, both the leaders have agreed to hold the three-tier election as per the constitutional provision.
