China sends 4,000 tonnes of rice to Syria

China has provided about 4,000 tons of rice to Syria. Syria has received rice sent as
humanitarian aid on Sunday. Syria has been hit by a recent food crisis due to conflict and
drought. That is why China has been providing food aid to Syria before.

Recently, 4,000 tons of rice was shipped and delivered to the Syrian capital, Damascus. At a ceremony in Damascus on Sunday, Chinese Ambassador to Syria Feng Biao handed over rice to Syrian Red Cross chief Khaled Hboubati.

On the occasion, Khalid, head of the Syrian Red Cross, thanked the Chinese government. He said China’s assistance during the crisis was invaluable. Chinese Ambassador Feng also said that China would continue its humanitarian assistance in the coming days.
