Prime Minister’s Cup Cricket: Undefeated in Police Group Stage

Kathmandu, January 17

The match between the police club and State 1, which was supposed to be on Saturday, has been postponed due to fear of corona infection.

After Kaushal Bhurtel scored 44 runs, Police club completed the target of 102 runs set by State 1 by losing 4 wickets in 13.1 overs. Bhurtel hit 3 fours and 3 sixes off 28 balls.
Dipendra Singh Bhari contributed 20 runs off 13 balls. Anil Shah scored an unbeaten 20 off 24 balls. Arif Sheikh hit 2 fours off 4 balls and remained unbeaten on 10 runs. Firdos Ansari, Dipesh Kandel, Mukund Yadav and Manoj Tamang of State 1 took 1-1 wickets.

Earlier, after winning the toss at TU ground, State 1 had scored 101 runs for the loss of 8
wickets in 20 overs. Though opener Minas Thapa scored a half century, State 1 could not make a big score as other players did not support it fast.

Minas played 59 balls and scored 59 runs with the help of 6 fours and 1 six. Shravan Yadav
added 10 runs. The rest of the players could not add runs in double digits.

In bowling, Arif Sheikh of Nepal Police took 2 wickets for 3 runs with 3 maidens in 3 overs.
Dipendra Singh Airy and captain Manjit Shrestha also took 2-2 wickets. While bowling 3 overs, Dipendra scored 8 runs and Manjit scored 20 runs. Similarly, Karan KC and Sagar Dhakal took one wicket each.

Both the semi-finals of the competition will be held on Tuesday. Where Nepal Police will play
Bagmati Pradesh and Army will play APF. Both the games will be played at the TU International Ground in Kirtipur.
