Landslide in Dhading: Body of one found, condition of two unknown

Kathmandu, January 16

The body of a person has been found buried in a landslide in Ruby Valley Gaonpalika-1 of
Dhading last Thursday. The condition of the other two is still unknown.

According to Jageshwor Bhandari, DSP and spokesperson of the District Police Office, Dhading, the body of Raju Tamang, co-driver of the dozer was found on Saturday afternoon. Raju’s body is being prepared to be handed over to his relatives today.

According to DSP Bhandari, search is on for dozer driver Akash Tamang and local Anish Tamang.

Three people, including a dozer, were buried when a landslide occurred while digging the road connecting Rasuwa-Tipling road section last Thursday. Police said that it was difficult to find the landslide site as it was remote and narrow. Army, Armed Forces and Nepal Police teams are active in the search for those buried in the landslide.
