Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, shared that country could be headed towards prosperity through the development of tourism sector.
Minister Gurung argued that possible efforts in government level were taken for the development of tourism, the main basis of economic prosperity.
Inaugurating the homestay of Besisahar municipality-2, Chisapani today, he underlined that tourists should be informed about original products and heritages as homestay could also contribute to tourism promotion.
The Communications Minister further said homestay could help create employment opportunity and reduce poverty, stating that foreign currency could be earned from the arrival of tourists. It has direct impact on upliftment of financial status of the local people.
He reminded government’s readiness to extend support including infrastructure development to the locals who run homestay.
In a different note, the Minister laid emphasis on the need of mechanization and commercialization of agriculture to usher in prosperity of villages.
Also the Spokesperson of the government, he shared that homestay is useful for rural tourism.
Out of 49 houses at Chisapani, 10 have run homestay, said Chairperson of Homestay Operation Management Committee, Min Maya Gurung.
