Federation of Industries and Commerce spoke in defense of the Batas

Kathmandu, January 14

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has also come
forward to defend the Batas Organization, which is in dispute over the operation of cafeteria in Narayanhiti Museum.

On Friday, the federation issued a statement to the Batas organization saying that it was a
unilateral character assassination and humiliation.”The federation has drawn serious attention to the unilateral attack on the Batas organization, character assassination and humiliation in connection with the operation of the cafeteria at the Narayanhiti Museum,” the federation said.

The federation claims that the operation of the cafeteria was allowed on the condition of
participating in the tender and paying the required rent in the tender called by the government. The federation has said that it will never take any action against the state for curbing and taking action against the illegal activities.

The FNCCI is concerned that the activities that are being done to lower the morale of the
private sector by unilaterally blaming only the entrepreneurs in the situation where permission has been given to do business with government resources will not be invested in the country and it will have a serious impact on employment.

Stating that the federation is in favor of a dignified and lawful business, the statement said,
”The federation is also clear on the issue of not allowing any violation of the constitutional right of the common citizen to do business in a lawful profession.”

The federation has also drawn the attention of all concerned to prevent the businessmen from being attacked unilaterally from anywhere without any evidence.
