Kathmandu, January 13

The Bensisahar-Chame road is being tarred 27 years after the track was opened. The road has been tarred with the help of locals and the government.

In 2051 BS, under this section, work was done to open the track from Bensisahar to Khudi.
Information Officer at the Dumre-Bensisahar-Chame Road Planning Office, Purupottam
Adhikari, informed that the first phase of work is underway to blacktop about 7.8 kilometers of road from Bensisahar to Khudi under the Bensishahar-Chame road.

He said that work is being done for widening the road, construction of walls, culverts and other works. Asphalt technology will be blacked out after the completion of the work. The work of the first phase will be completed by next July. Ashish Honest JV Chitwan has signed an agreement last June to complete the black paper by mid-Asar 2080 BS. A total of Rs 529.6 million will be spent for the work, the official said. The project has stated that the work has started only from September due to rains.

Bids will be invited soon for the 300-meter-long Kharkhare Bhir in Bensisahar Municipality-6, which is within a seven-and-a-half kilometer stretch of road from Bensisahar to Khudi. The track of the road from Khudi to Manang was opened by the Nepal Army in 2069 BS and handed over to the Division Road Office, Damauli. The 65 km long road connects Lamjung and Manang. There are 35 kilometers to Lamjung and 30 kilometers to Manang.
